Cuskelly College of Music Winter Music School in Tenterfield

Tune up your instrument, warm up your voice and get out your dancing shoes because the Cuskelly College of Music WINTER SCHOOL MUSIC PROGRAM is on again in Tenterfield!

This will be a fantastic week of playing, singing, moving, acting – full immersion in all that Music has to offer. There are programs for Primary and Secondary students as well as for adults who are interested in music and music education. Alongside daily classes and rehearsals, the week includes fabulous evening concerts featuring some of Australia’s best performers.

The week kicks off with a community singing day, The Chilly Sing, on Sunday 03 July. In the previous Chilly Sing community choirs from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast were involved and we expect that choirs will come from far and wide to be part of the day. Importantly, the day is open to everyone and all are encouraged to participate – there is no need to be part of an existing group and individuals are very welcome. It would be great to see – and hear – lots of locals joining in! Come along and have a sing!

 Many of the participants who were involved in the first Winter School had very little background in Music but they were still able to enjoy the full experience of learning and performing Music. Our outstanding tutors are all very experienced and we pride ourselves on our ability to include everyone and make music accessible for all.

We are grateful to FRRR and HNECHP for their financial support and we are delighted to partner with Heartbeat of the Bush in bringing this program to our area. This grant funding provides substantially subsidised course registration and for those in NSW there is the added benefit of the Creative Kids vouchers. This financial assistance removes barriers to participation and provides the same opportunity for our country kids as those on offer to families in the metropolitan area.
